Although quite a trip from Boston, it's definitely one of the best spots we've been to
recently. Flight time is about 5.5 hrs to SF and then 4.5 hrs to Hawaii. Hawaii is 5 more
time zones to the West (i.e. 11 from Germany)
 | Maui:
we went to Haleakala, the volcano, Hana Highway, the tropical winding road to Hana, Paia,
the Windsurfer paradise close to Hookipa as well as a lot of other places.

| Kauai:
we stayed with locals close to the Kilauea light house. 
Main trips: helicopter flight to volcano and Napali Coast (Jurassic Park coast), Halalau
trail along Napali coast, Weimea Canyon, Surfer village Hanalei.

| Hawaii:
the cliff house an hour south of Hilo was our base for trips to the Vulcano Nat'l Park,
hot springs, Mauna Kea etc.

| Oahu:
despite the short time we saw a lot: Honolulu, Waikiki, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, Kailua
etc.
